For a list of upcoming clothing optional runs (and some bike rides), I made some races Facebook events. Go to the tinyurl below and you can see our Facebook version (not as complete) on any mobile phone!
The New York Times feature, it was listed among other stories in that day’s paper on the bottom of Page 1, got enough attention that local Detroit media caught attention. Nancy Derringer contacted me about an interview. After exchanging a few emails I got a good sense of where she was coming from, but you never know. Plus, most interviews of male nudists seem to be men who look either creepy or they were fired for being a drunk Santa Claus.
So, I wore a button down collar light blue dress shirt and a navy tie. I remember John T. Molloy writing in his Dress For Success newspaper column that the more extreme your views are, the more important it is to dress normal.
Here is the story, and I think it came off well as showing nudist running races a lot more normal than a supermarket tabloid would show us. Thanks again to Nancy Derringer and DeadLineDetroit.com for treating us with respect.
In February Bruce ran a 27:54 5K with 130 entries and was 26th overall. He drove 9 hours from Detroit and ran 27:00 with only 115 entries, but was 42nd overall. That’s how competitive the Pretzel City Sports series is.
Jen A. Miller has a newsletter too, which allows some back stories to the published feature

Turtle Lake Resort went from 90 entries the past few years to 123 this year, easily the biggest field in the 15 years of the current owner and most likely ever. A record 30 women would be 24.3% which also may be a percentage record. The weather was warm and bright sunshine. We hope our Naked5K.com stickers had a part of the big jump in runners. Results are here:

Barehide Ranch is a fun, rustic, nudist club west of Fort Worth, Texas. This is the new name for the ARMADILLO RESORT.
The 5K course is genuinely cross country: rocky trails, dirt paths through an oak forest, a trail through a grassy meadow, and a section of gravel road. It includes some modest hills. Awards will be given to the top overall finishers (male and female) and to the top three finishers in each 5-year age category (male and female). The event is for adults 18+ at Barehide Ranch. Fruit, drinks, and hot dogs will be provided free to all participants. Also after race enjoy the hot tub, two swimming pools, water volleyball, horseshoes, darts. Friday night enjoy a movie, cards, karaoke. Saturday night there is a dance.
